Winning Team Values

Since 7 years old when I joined my first soccer team and then my first football team (see what I did there?), I have been engaged in team activities as the core of my daily routine. Whether those activities were participating in sports or organizations or now with my company 絕對生活股份有限公司 Absolute Lifestyle Corporation, teams and their dynamics have driven my life and shaped my character.

So what makes a good team? In my estimation the core values of a winning team propel it’s future endeavours and provide the foundation on which to build a strong future.

So in my first ever article here on Medium — I thought it smart to start with establishing those values and sharing them with you.

From sports to classrooms and on to the frontiers of entrepreneurship and corporate development, these values can be applied evenly and bring you and your like-minded group meaning and purpose.

And from that? Success will come.

1) Toughness: We will always know where we are in relation to our objective and no matter the position, emotional environment or circumstance, we will remain clear and focused on the objective at hand. We will understand that it is us, and us only that can control our own futures. We will never blame others for failure. We will control our own outcomes with a smile on our face and a fire in our eyes.

2) Preparedness: We will strive to never be caught off-guard and will be on time and ready to participate through our efforts before-hand in every team activity and function that represents or develops our organization

3) Diligence: We will never fail to understand ourselves and each other. We will be experts from our sheer force of will and effort. We will keep neat, organized and tidy both ourselves and our spaces. We will be careful and thorough in our process.

4) Courageousness: We will fear nothing and will never stand stand down for what is right and just.

5) Respectfulness: We will respect one another by being mindful that we are all different and have something unique to bring to our organization.

6) Optimism: No matter what happens, we will keep our outlook positive. We will understand that life has its ups and downs and yes, the glass is “half full”.
